Tungaloy and NTK Cutting Tools merge to Expand Manufacturing Solutions

Tungaloy and NTK Cutting Tools will merge in 2027, combining expertise to expand cutting tool technologies and manufacturing solutions globally.
Tungaloy Corporation and NTK Cutting Tools have announced that NTK Cutting Tools will merge with Tungaloy, effective 1 January 2027. The merger is subject to compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Following the merger, the integrated organisation will operate under the Tungaloy corporate name while retaining the NTK Cutting Tools brand. NTK Cutting Tools will function as a dedicated division within Tungaloy, building on its technology, heritage and expertise in the cutting tool industry.
Alongside the merger, plans have been finalised for a new headquarters and advanced manufacturing facility for NTK Cutting Tools in the Nagoya region, Japan. The multi-million investment will expand production capacity, introduce advanced manufacturing technologies and create a modern environment for manufacturing, engineering, marketing and corporate functions.
Combining cutting tool expertise
The merger brings together the complementary strengths of both organisations. Tungaloy contributes its extensive cutting tool portfolio, expertise in grade development and focus on innovation, while NTK Cutting Tools brings its recognised capabilities in ceramic cutting tool technology and miniature machining solutions. The integration will also unite the experience, technical knowledge and expertise of teams from both organisations.
For customers and distribution partners, the combined organisation will offer a wider range of technologies, application expertise and industry knowledge to support manufacturers globally.
