SDLG India, a global construction equipment manufacturer with more than 15 years of presence in India, has announced plans to invest approximately Rs 15 billion in India, including future expansion and capacity building.

As the first step, the company has invested Rs 3 billion in a new manufacturing plant in Gujarat, which will have the capacity to produce up to 3,000 units annually in a phased manner. The investment is aimed at expanding SDLG India’s manufacturing footprint, strengthening local production and building a larger presence in the Indian market.

SDLG India has also unveiled 10 new construction equipment products across diesel and electric excavators, wheel loaders and motor graders, strengthening its offering for India’s infrastructure, construction and mining sectors. The launches include advanced diesel excavators with enhanced hydraulics, operator controls and safety features, alongside electric equipment for sustainable applications.

The Gujarat plant will manufacture key construction equipment categories, including wheel loaders, excavators and electric vehicles. Its phased development will enable SDLG India to scale production in line with market demand while strengthening its ability to serve customers from a local manufacturing base.

The expansion of SDLG India’s dealer network and related activities is expected to support around 2,500 indirect employment opportunities in India.
