Godrej Enterprises Launches Udaan to Strengthen MSME Manufacturing Ecosystem

Udaan initiative, launched in association with CII, aims to strengthen MSME capabilities through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) led operational excellence and supplier development.

Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG) has launched ‘Udaan’, an industry-led supplier capability-building initiative developed in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem through MSME capability development. The programme, initiated in Aligarh, brings together supplier partners and equips them with a structured Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) journey to enhance operational excellence, resource productivity, collaboration and global competitiveness.
Under Udaan, Godrej Enterprises Group, in collaboration with the CII TPM Club of India, has developed a dedicated TPM curriculum for MSMEs. Participating supplier partners will receive support from specialist TPM consultants for on-ground implementation and capability building. The cluster-based approach focuses on strengthening processes, reducing operational losses, improving productivity and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
Progress under the programme will be tracked through quarterly reviews, periodic assessments and factory audits conducted by CII representatives and industry experts. Supplier partners successfully completing the programme will be formally recognised by Godrej Enterprises Group and CII for their achievements.
With Udaan, Godrej Enterprises Group becomes the first company in the hardware industry and among a select group of organisations in India to extend a structured TPM excellence programme across its supplier ecosystem.
By enabling MSMEs to improve productivity, operational capabilities and competitiveness, the initiative aims to strengthen India’s manufacturing value chain and support the country’s ambition of becoming a globally competitive manufacturing hub.

The launch of Udaan reflects Godrej Enterprises Group’s continued commitment to manufacturing excellence, supplier development and MSME empowerment. By investing in capability building across its value chain, GEG aims to strengthen supply chain resilience while contributing to a more competitive, innovative and globally relevant manufacturing ecosystem.
The participating supplier partners have been nurtured by Godrej Enterprises Group over the past six years. After successfully completing the Partnership Competitiveness Programme (PCP), achieving Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED) Certification and beginning their Lean Manufacturing Certification journey, these enterprises are now progressing to the next stage through Udaan. In recognition of its efforts towards strengthening the MSME ecosystem in Aligarh, Godrej Enterprises Group was recently honoured by Laghu Udyog Bharati, Aligarh, with the ‘Outstanding Contribution to MSME Development in Aligarh’ recognition.
