De-stoner

The basic principle of the De-stoner involves flowing of dry granular material over an inclined, vibrating, screen-covered deck. Air is pulled through the deck, and through the bed of material. The steady air flow holds the product in stratified flotation- lighter material in the upper strata as it flows down the inclined vibrating deck. Heavier than Product materials such as stones, glass, metal, etc., travel uphill and discharge out. The product itself flows downhill, and at the discharge end of the deck, can be skimmed and divert the top part of the bed that contains all the lighter impurities for further purification on a gravity table. The bottom portion of the bed consists of gravity pure, finished product that often needs no further refinement.
