Ather Partners with Four Institutions to Build EV Talent Pipeline

Ather Energy has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with four educational and skill-development institutions in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to strengthen the region’s talent pipeline for the electric vehicle and manufacturing sectors.

The MoUs were signed with the International Centre of Excellence in Engineering and Management (ICEEM), ISIEINDIA Private Limited, Yashodeep Knowledge Hub and Jijamata ITI, Shevgaon. The initiative comes as Ather expands its manufacturing footprint in the region with its new facility at AURIC and aims to develop the skilled workforce needed to support the facility and the wider industrial ecosystem.

Under the MoUs, Ather will collaborate with the four institutions on EV-focused curriculum design, faculty development, technical training and practical, industry-linked learning. Students and faculty will gain exposure to EV technologies and modern manufacturing practices through engagement with Ather’s technical and manufacturing teams, covering emerging EV technologies, manufacturing processes, and safety and quality practices.

Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Chief Operating Officer, Ather Energy, said, “When you build a manufacturing facility, you are also building an ecosystem around it, and talent is a central part of that. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has a strong base of educational institutions and young enthusiastic people, and we wanted to work with them from the start. These MoUs bring industry and academia closer together, giving students a clearer view of how technology is applied in a real manufacturing environment, and giving institutions and faculty greater exposure to the capabilities industry needs. For us at Ather, it also opens a direct channel to these institutions and students, helping us understand their aspirations so that industry can adapt to what this talent actually needs, rather than the other way around. Over time, this can build a strong talent pool for the region and for the broader manufacturing ecosystem.”

Surabhi Loshali, Chief Human Resources Officer, Ather Energy, said, “As Ather scales its manufacturing footprint, building the right talent pipeline is as critical as building the facility itself. These partnerships let us engage with students and faculty early, shape curriculum around real industry needs, and create clear pathways into meaningful careers in the EV sector. It’s an investment not just in our own workforce, but in the long-term skill readiness of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and the region’s manufacturing ecosystem.”

Dr C. S. Padmavat, Campus Director, ICEEM College, said, “Industry engagement is an important part of preparing students for the changing requirements of the EV and manufacturing sectors. Our partnership with Ather will give students and faculty greater exposure to industry practices and help connect technical education with real-world applications.”

Rupali Agrawal, Deputy Director, ISIEINDIA, said, “We are committed to working closely with Ather Energy to translate the objectives of these MoUs into meaningful learning and capability-building initiatives for students and faculty. Industry-academia partnerships will be important in building the skills needed for the next phase of growth in the EV sector.”

Alongside its manufacturing expansion at AURIC, Ather is building a local talent pipeline to support its operations and contribute to the region’s wider industrial base. The initiative aims to strengthen the connection between technical education, practical skills and industry as India’s EV and manufacturing ecosystem continues to scale.
