Thermo King, a strategic brand of global climate innovator Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT), has announced four new models in its all-electric EV series for Asia Pacific: the EV500S, EV500e, EV300e and EV200e.

Designed with a highly integrated electric drive solution, the new lineup helps customers improve operating efficiency across a wide range of urban cold chain applications. The launch also supports the growing demand for sustainable, reliable and connected temperature-controlled transport across the region.

As urban cold chain distribution shifts towards electrification, customers increasingly require solutions that address diverse transport needs. Thermo King’s new EV series is designed to meet these requirements across multiple cold chain applications.

The EV500S and EV500e are suited for urban distribution, including the transportation of fruits and vegetables, fresh e-commerce goods and pharmaceuticals. The EV200e and EV300e are designed for high-frequency, short-haul last-mile delivery, supporting cold chain requirements from urban cold storage facilities to retail outlets.

As electric vehicles place greater demands on energy management, the new EV series delivers improved energy efficiency. Compared with the first-generation units, operating energy efficiency has improved by 8.3 per cent, with significantly enhanced cooling performance.

This enables the units to restore temperature more quickly after frequent door openings, meeting the requirements of high-frequency transport scenarios while ensuring reliable cargo protection.

The new series also features the ARCON intelligent control architecture, which dynamically adjusts cooling output based on changing cargo load conditions and maintains temperature control within ±0.5°C. This provides a stable environment for temperature-sensitive cargo, including food, fresh produce and pharmaceuticals.

The series also comes equipped with an economy (ECO) mode that helps reduce energy consumption without compromising cooling performance, enabling greater driving range for electric transport vehicles.

Built on Thermo King’s proven platform, the new EV series incorporates multi-level fault protection, intelligent adaptive defrost logic and a high-grade waterproof design to ensure stable, all-weather operation under demanding transport conditions.

The series introduces a highly integrated drive solution that optimises the overall system layout while maintaining strong performance. This improves installation and maintenance efficiency, helping reduce total life cycle operating costs and deliver greater commercial value.

The new EV series offers Thermo King’s next-generation iTracKing II intelligent system as an option. Powered by IP67 industrial-grade TBOX hardware, the system enables 24/7 remote monitoring of transport refrigeration units.

Through a mobile app, users can access real-time information such as vehicle location, cargo compartment temperature and unit operating status, improving asset visibility and management.

Unlike conventional monitoring systems, iTracKing II provides two-way remote control, allowing users to start and stop units, adjust temperatures and reset alarms remotely.

As Thermo King’s native, factory-fitted solution, iTracKing II integrates seamlessly across Thermo King’s portfolio, including trailer, self-powered and vehicle-powered units, without requiring additional modifications. The system also supports long-term historical data storage and customisable report exports, further improving management efficiency and end-to-end traceability across the transport process.
