Rainer Brehm to lead the newly established Automation unit, effective October 1, 2026. New organisation brings together key automation capabilities and further advances Siemens’ ONE Tech Company strategy.

Siemens is strengthening its automation business to help industrial customers build more flexible, productive and resilient production systems. As part of its ONE Tech Company strategy, Siemens will therefore bring together its four automation business units into a single organisation effective October 1, 2026. Customer Services, Factory Automation, Motion Control and Process Automation will be consolidated into one unified organisation: Automation.

Rainer Brehm has been appointed President of Automation by the Managing Board of Siemens AG. He will assume the role on October 1, 2026, reporting to Cedrik Neike, Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and CEO Digital Industries.

That is exactly why we are creating the Automation unit. I am pleased that Rainer Brehm will lead this new organisation. Together with our strong team, he will further develop and strengthen this business,” said Cedrik Neike.

In his current role as Digital Industries COO for automation business and CTO, Brehm has been driving the strategic development of the company’s automation portfolio, including technologies such as software-defined automation and Industrial AI. Prior to this role, he served as CEO of the Factory Automation business unit.
