Centre-Less Grinding Machine, Mikrosa

With the Kronos M 250, Studer Mikrosa GmbH is offering a high-precision centre-less grinding machine based on the modular concept of the Kronos platform, but with several cost-cutting advantages. Every machine is equipped with a Sinumerik 840D CNC control system and the Mikrosa operator interface. It is possible to process work-pieces with a plunge length of up to 245 mm and up to 100 mm diameter. The Kronos M 250 stands for flexibility of use. The design of the grinding spindle depends on the grinding task: it can be mounted with roller bearings on one side, hydrodynamic bearings on one side or with the new CNC axial adjustment. This newly developed motorised axial adjustment, the Z1-axis, allows the grinding spindle to be adjusted by 10 mm in the axial direction. This feature not only simplifies set-up but it also allows simultaneous machining of panels and shoulders by plunge grinding. The 7 CNC axes of the Kronos M make complex fully automated machining possible. The regulating spindle unit with bearings on two sides and integral changing system allows short set-up times and the CNC dressers, each with two axes for the grinding and regulating wheel with continuous path control, ensure maximum flexibility. The Granitan machine base and the fully secured workhead guarantee extreme precision.
