Disc Brakes

Sibre Brakes (India) offers Disc Brakes, Model SHI and SHI-FC. These are emergency brakes for rope drums and conveyor belts, also available as floating calliper. The brakes in the SHI series consist of two independent halves with facing spring loaders and hydraulic cylinders. The brake lining support is held by guide bolts, which absorb brake energy. The lining support is hydraulically retracted during operation of the brakes. The brakes can be used horizontally or vertically, predominantly as an emergency brake. Any lining wear can quickly be manually compensated. The friction lining is glued and riveted onto the lining support. Special linings are available for particular requirements. Features: short engage time = high security; adjusting possibility to different brake disk thickness; simple manual compensation of lining wear; and quick, simple exchange of the lining holders. Common applications: emergency brake for medium-sized and heavy duty drives on hoisting gear or cableways or as service brakes on, for example, conveyor belts; and can also be used as track pinch bars. Available attachments: hydraulic unit, disc brakes complete with hub or clutch, air gap limit switch – lining wear monitor, and consoles on request depending on requirements.
