EM Spring Applied Fail Safe Brake, Type AC

AC operated electromagnetic spring applied fail safe brakes from Mod E-Tech Engineering are made with Italian collaboration, the design of Temporiti Srl. These most advanced AC brakes are normally On type, that is the brake is always On and applied. When a AC voltage is applied to it, the brake releases, thus allowing the shaft on which it is mounted to rotate. In case of no voltage, the brake is applied immediately and the rotating shaft on which the brake is mounted is held immediately. This also forms a safety mechanism in which the load is stopped from being moved in case of no power. These can be mounted either on the back side of an electric motor or an any other driven shaft which is to be braked and they can be supplied with mounting flange for ease of fitment and with manual hand release for releasing the brake without power. They are available in various sizes and capacities from torque of 4.5 Nm up to 150 Nm. General applications are in brake motors, cranes, hoists, material handling equipment, CNC machines, packaging, textile and other machines. Salient features: direct acting type without any solenoid or linkages and moving parts; smallest and most compact in size; very robust, rugged design and operation; extremely long lasting and reliable; high performance, extremely fast in operation ? ideal for suspended load against gravity, i.e., for cranes and hoists; and interchangeable as far as mounting with most DC brakes. Other features are: quiet operation (<70 dBA), simple assembly and installation, aluminium pressure die cast housing and very good heat dissipation, adjustable torque, optional manual release and dust seal, epoxy resin bonded vibration proof coil, Class ?F? insulation, rust protected metal parts, options of friction plate and mounting flange, IP 64 protection against dust and water sprinklings, etc.
