Mod E-Tech Engineering manufactures DC Operated Electromagnetic Spring Applied Fail-Safe Brakes. It can be mounted either on the backside of an electric motor or on any other driven shaft which is to be braked. It is an ON type system that is the brake is always applied, when a DC voltage is applied to it the brake releases, thus allowing the shaft on which it is mounted to rotate. In case of no voltage, the brake is applied immediately and the rotating shaft on which the brake is mounted is held immediately.
