The SWB quick change jaw system combines the advantages of the tongue-and-groove connection between base an top jaws with a quick-change jaw feature. The top jaws sliding tangentially onto a T-shaped base jaw connector and are secured with a wrench operated lock pin. The heavy duty T-head on the base jaw is capable of transmitting high clamping forces, while maintaining high accuracy and stability. A selection of both soft and hardened top jaws is available to suit every conceivable operating requirement. The manufacturer recommends top jaws with hardened clamping inserts for the first clamping operation. Top jaw clamping diameters are sized to overlap, thus providing secure clamping on a complete range of workpiece diameters. Soft monoblock jaws are recommended for second operation clampings. Advantages of the SWB systems include: quick jaw change; solid stable connection between top and base jaw; extremely high repeat accuracy; top jaws can be rotated 180 degrees for maximum utilization; and retrofit installation is available for Forkardt Power Chuck Models.
