Pulverizer-Cum-Sizer

Pulva-Sizer Hammermill from Pulva Corporation, USA, is not just a pulverizer, but also sizes material to specifications. It is designed to process a large variety of crude material into a homogeneous mixture and is an impact-type grinding mill which employs a grinding chamber housing a rotor that spins from 1,800 to 9,600 RPM. The rotor is equipped with either fixed or swinging hammers which strike the material passing through the chember, reducing it to the required particle size. A perforated screen (available in various sizes) is installed in the lower half of the chamber. With correct use of chamber liner and screen, accurate particle size is obtained. Feeding can be done using feed screws or vibratory feeder depending upon the size and properties of the feed material to be Pulva-sized. For materials with low melting point, Pulva offers complete cryogenic grinding systems where the material temperature can be lowered to -1950C in the pre-cooler. Such grinding provides for easy size reduction to as low as -325 mesh. The Pulva-Sizer in usable for grinding and sizing of chemical pigments, dry colours, dye-stuffs, carbon black, insecticides, fungicides; to mix-grind cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, drugs, soaps, soap powders, plastic resins, moulding compounds, gums, fillers, beet sugar, premixed materials like milk powder, chocolates, vanilla beans, shortenings and spices. Pulva-Sizers are available in various capacities from a small Pulvette mode(3/4 to 1 HP) for pilot plant and research work, up to one using 100 HP. Pulva cryogenic grinding systems are available from 0.5 to 250 kg capacity or even more against specific requirements.
