First held in 1969, IMTEX, the mega machine tools expo organized by Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA), will cross a milestone of 50 years in January 2019. The 19th edition of IMTEX 2019 will be held concurrently with 20th edition of Tooltech 2019 from January 24-30 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Bengaluru.
Commemorating 50 years’ journey IMTMA is organising two seminars Factory of the Future - Industry 4.0 (showcasing digital technologies which are revolutionising the manufacturing industry) and Additive Manufacturing Expo (showcasing the latest developments in 3D printing). IMTMA will also depict IMTEX journey at an Experience Zone in the form of pictures, videos and some conventional machines. Visitors can see and experience the growth of IMTEX from its initial days to its modern form.
The expo is expected to be the largest ever in IMTEX history with over 1000 exhibitors from 23 countries participating in the event, which will cover space of around 80,000 sq m. The show will be held in 6 halls with a new hall (Hall 5) being opened for international exhibitions for the first time.
IMTEX is a flagship event for the Indian metal cutting industry. It is South and South East Asia's apex exhibition showcasing the latest trends as well as technological refinements from India and other global players. The mega event attracts visitors from a wide spectrum of manufacturing and ancillary industries including key decision and policy makers as well as industry captains who are keen to source latest technologies and manufacturing solutions for their product lines.
On the other hand, Tooltech will showcase machine tool accessories, metrology and CAD/CAM cutting tools, tooling systems and current trends in the tooling industry. Tooltech manifests recent innovations in technology, design and product development to achieve competitiveness and excellence in the machine tool industry.
With a view to highlight the evolving trends in the machining technologies, IMTMA is organising the 'International Seminar on Machining Technologies' on January 23, 2019.
IMTMA will organise 'Connect', an awareness programme for imparting knowledge on the machine tool industry for young engineers during IMTEX 2019. At IMTEX 2019, IMTMA will also provide an opportunity for Indian academic/R&D institutions to show case their R&D capabilities in metal working field to the world.
