Schaeffler India opens Large Size Bearings Refurbishing Center in Jamshedpur

Schaeffler India Limited, leading industrial and automotive supplier, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Large Size Bearing (LSB) Refurbishment Center in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Strategically located in Eastern part of country, the facility is in partnership with Premier Bearings India Ltd, a leading authorised distribution partner for Schaeffler India.

With this center, the company has enhanced its service offerings and proximity to customers to repair bearings used in continuous operating process industries such as mining, metal & minerals, pulp & paper, railways, power sector and many more.
These bearings play a critical role in these industries by keeping high-value machinery operating continuously and efficiently. Hence, their condition has a significant influence on the overall availability of machinery and plant profitability. Bearings are typically replaced with new ones, as they reach the end of operating efficiency. But replacement of large size bearings is not an easy and economically viable process. It involves significant costs and long lead times.
Industries can save valuable resources by opting for bearing refurbishment and reconditioning, thus extending their operating life. It offers significant other benefits such as reducing downtimes, life cycle, and inventory costs. In addition, the process also leads to a substantial reduction in carbon emissions as it uses a lesser quantity of raw materials as compared to the manufacturing of new bearings.
Bearing refurbishment and reconditioning at the Jamshedpur center is managed by a dedicated team of bearing repair experts. The facility follows a six-step procedure as per Schaeffler's global guidelines and reconditioning standards.
