Saatvik Solar Industries Private Limited, a material
subsidiary of Saatvik Green Energy Limited, is advancing its 2.4 GW solar cell
manufacturing facility in Odisha towards enlistment under ALMM List-II. The
development marks an important step in the company’s plans to scale up
high-efficiency, advanced solar cell manufacturing and strengthen India’s
domestic solar PV value chain.
Located in Ganjam, Odisha, the facility has an applied
manufacturing capacity of 2,400 MW and is being developed to manufacture
Saatvik’s portfolio of high-efficiency, high-wattage solar cells using the
latest N-TOPCon technology. The facility’s ALMM List-II submission covers
Monocrystalline Bifacial N-TOPCon G12R solar cell technology under the Domestic
Content Requirement (DCR) category, with Model No. SS-NTP-210R-16BB-BF.
The development will enable Saatvik to expand its
manufacturing capabilities further upstream in the solar PV value chain as
India continues to build domestic capacity in advanced solar technologies.
Subject to approval and enlistment by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy
(MNRE), the facility will be eligible for deployment in projects requiring
compliance with applicable domestic sourcing requirements.
Prashant Mathur, CEO, Saatvik
Green Energy, said, “The advancement of our Odisha cell manufacturing facility
towards ALMM List-II enlistment is an important milestone in our ambition to
build advanced and competitive solar manufacturing capabilities in India. With
a planned capacity of 2.4 GW and a focus on high-efficiency N-TOPCon
technology, the facility will strengthen our ability to offer domestically
manufactured solar cells while supporting the industry's broader localisation
journey. We remain focused on investing in technology, scale and manufacturing
capabilities that can contribute to India's long-term renewable energy
ambitions.”
The Odisha facility forms part of Saatvik’s broader
manufacturing expansion strategy, with the company increasing its focus on
high-efficiency cell and module technologies to address the evolving
requirements of India’s rapidly growing solar market. The facility will
manufacture N-TOPCon G12R cells, a technology designed to deliver higher
conversion efficiency and enhanced power output, supporting the industry’s
continued shift towards higher-performing PV products. The development also
strengthens Saatvik’s manufacturing presence in Odisha and is expected to
create opportunities across the regional industrial and supplier ecosystem.
Saatvik Green Energy has been expanding its presence across
the renewable energy value chain, with capabilities spanning utility-scale
solar power generation, solar PV module manufacturing and energy storage
solutions. The company currently has 4.86 GW of module manufacturing capacity
and is pursuing further expansion across solar cells and modules as part of its
long-term manufacturing roadmap.
The company’s focus on domestic cell manufacturing comes as
India accelerates efforts to develop a resilient and self-reliant solar
manufacturing ecosystem. The combination of domestic manufacturing capacity,
advanced cell technology and DCR-compliant production is expected to play an
increasingly important role in meeting the country’s growing renewable energy
requirements while strengthening supply-chain resilience.
With the Odisha facility, Saatvik aims to deepen its
manufacturing capabilities and contribute to the development of a
technology-led, locally anchored and globally competitive solar manufacturing
ecosystem in India.
Saatvik Solar is advancing its 2.4 GW Odisha solar cell facility towards ALMM List-II enlistment, strengthening its focus on high-efficiency N-TOPCon technology and domestic manufacturing.
