ELECRAMA 2018: The one-stop-shop show for electrical industry

The event will bring together the complete spectrum of solutions that powers the global electrical and electronics industry with special focus on renewable, technologies, railways and much more.

ELECRAMA 2018, India’s leading trade fair for electrical & electronics (E&E) industry, will be held from March 10-14, 2018 at India Expo Mart (Greater Noida). Events such as Global Summits, B2B events, Start Up Innovation Showcase, Network to Networth, etc will be organised alongside the exhibition, which will presenting a wide gamut of industries and application areas that are strategic to the electrical business of the future. The trade fair will feature not just equipment & technology, but also thought leadership platforms (from technical conferences to industry summits) for everything electric. Held biennially since 1990 in India, ELECRAMA is organised by Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association (IEEMA).

Preparing for a new era

ELECRAMA for long has been focused on relevance to its constituencies by providing relevant showcasing of product and technology as well as strengthening the knowledge quotient by a suite of concurrent and professionally managed events that feature some of the world’s renowned experts and thought leaders. The event will also introduce a couple of new initiatives and conferences that reaches out to some of the key constituents of the global electricity business.

The power sector in India is at an inflexion point. The old practice and technology are rapidly giving way to the new. The thrust on renewable sources, power storage and smart technologies have changed the paradigm. Keeping in perspective of this transformation, ELECRAMA 2018 will now evolve from the traditional power transmission and distribution encompass the complete electricity ecosystem.

New segments and verticals that now cover the entire spectrum of electricity will now be covered under the purview of the event, namely: generation, transmission, distribution, power electronics, renewables, powerstorage, electromobility and automation. The focus application areas of railway, nuclear and defence have been also included in the scope.

Renewables in focus

ELECRAMA 2018 will host renewables energy pavilion, RE-Pavilion, providing a platform to the renewable energy equipment vendors for engaging with their key end customers - utilities, T&D industry & power storage. For the first time, the entire renewable energy portfolio converges with the consumption and application side of the business. The electricity domain is getting intertwined with the technology world. Renewable energy gets a new boost with massive developments in energy storage. Smart software based solutions enable optimum usage. And renewables are increasingly being looked to as vital components in e-transportation charging networks. This is opening new opportunities for existing players in the renewable electricity domain. ETechNxT attempts to unravel the same through its purpose built state-of-the-art showcase of products and solutions companies and startups on the cutting edge of technology, supported by high quality conference featuring top Industry leaders with tracks on.

Rail Urja

Indian Railways is one of the biggest customer segment of the Indian electrical Industry. It is now embarking on a mega electrification plan to meet its growth targets and also its commitment to increase efficiencies and embrace renewable energy in a big way. A lot of policy level changes have been introduced to include stakeholders from outside the traditional railway PSU universe in an effort to strengthen capacity building for speeding up the electrification works.

This new development opens new avenues for members of the Indian electrical industry & EPC contractors to explore opportunities in the Indian Railway transformation story. To facilitate and channelise this opportunity, ELECRAMA along with the Indian Railways has conceptualised Rail Urja - a dedicated railway electrification pavilion at ELECRAMA. The objective of this pavilion is to connect the railways sector with the electrical industry to drive synergies that are mutually beneficial. The railways pavilion will not be just exhibition space but a confluence of multiple experiences and activities.

Knowledge forums

Concurrently with ELECRAMA, India Expo Mart will be venue for number of national and international conferences. World Utility Summit: It is a pioneering thought leadership forum, which attempts to set the agenda for the future, actively playing the role of a key enabler for the eco-system and to develop optimal solutions, technology & products. The summit, with the theme of ‘Utility of Utilities’, will explore how emerging solutions such as the smart grid technologies, Internet of Things (IoT) and usage of real time data can be used to enhance the performance of today utilities. ChangeXchange 2018: The fourth reverse buyer-seller meet will be oragnised together with ELECRAMA-2018.

Engineer Infinite: An international conference, jointly organised by IEEE (Delhi & UP Section) and IEEMA, will provide an opportunity for researchers, academicians, scientists and professional engineers to present their work, publish their results, exchange ideas and network for scientific and industrial collaborations in an international forum. World Contractors Consultants and Channel Partners Congress (W4C): A conference that features representatives of global associations for consultants, contractors, architects, specifiers and PMCs to interface with the supplier universe for sharing insights, ideas and challenges that a tomorrows world requires. The key agenda areas would like the impact of technology speeding gestation cycles, increased focus on security, integration of IoT and increasing convergence of utilities.

Global Electrical Equipment Manufacture's Summit (GEMS): It is a global platform for the electricity equipment manufacturing sector. In an era of boundary less high technology, it is imperative for businesses across countries need to break silos and talk to each other to discuss the impact of disruption via technology. The congress will bring the existing traditional industry to interface with the new age together. This will also feature a roundtable of manufacturing associations across the globe.

Electrifying growth

The last edition of ELECRAMA held in 2016 witnessed over 600 buyers from 40 countries, business worth $ 400 million over 6000 meetings in a period of 3 days. The 2018 edition of the show is expected to get much bigger and influential.
