December 14, 2018: BorgWarner, a global leader in technology solutions for all kinds of propulsion systems, will display its range of clean and efficient products at the SIAT EXPO 2019 in Pune, India. The company will showcase its emission-reducing technologies at booth 222 in hall B from January 16 to 18, 2019. Among BorgWarner’s exhibits are exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) technologies, the advanced exhaust heat recovery system (EHRS), variable turbine geometry (VTG) turbocharger solutions and variable cam timing (VCT) technology.
“We at BorgWarner are constantly working on improving our technologies in terms of fuel efficiency and performance. In this way, we aim to support all customers in meeting local emission standards like BS VI. The SIAT EXPO 2019 here in Pune is an ideal opportunity to present our broad range of solutions for cleaner future mobility, regardless of the propulsion system used,” said Scott Gallett, Vice President, Marketing, Public Relations and Government Affairs, BorgWarner.
One effective solution for cleaner and healthier air in India is the EGR system. By redirecting a controllable percentage of exhaust gas back into the intake air, the company’s innovation allows NOX emissions to be reduced significantly. The cost-effective method is applicable to a wide range of engines, where it optimizes heat absorption and reduces oxygen concentration in the combustion chamber. Not only does the innovative solution resist high thermal loads – it also increases efficiency and offers durable performance, even with a minimum of coolant flow.
The company’s EHRS combines advanced EGR technology with a waste heat recovery system (WHRS). By using the heat from the exhaust gas, which is usually wasted, the EHRS helps shorten the engine warm-up time, enhances efficiency, reduces emissions and improves fuel economy. Exhaust gas is routed through a heat exchanger, so that the thermal energy of the gas heats up the vehicle’s subsystem fluids. The company’s EHRS also allows mechanical losses to be reduced.
The Indian market offers great growth potential for turbocharging solutions. The continued drive for fuel economy and the expected growth of the hybrid market share is driving the demand for clean and efficient turbocharging technologies. Diesel engines will become more efficient and cleaner with advanced VTG and regulated two-stage (R2S) turbocharging solutions. The share of modern turbocharged, gasoline direct fuel injection engines is expected to grow, both for conventional and hybrid powertrains. Here, BorgWarner offers customers its gasoline VTG turbocharging solution, which provides smooth power delivery and excellent response while improving fuel efficiency and lowering emissions.
The exhibits showing BorgWarner’s latest technologies in Pune will include its advanced VCT technology, which offers a decreased time to torque and improved noise, vibration and harshness (NVH). The solution also lowers power consumption and reduces the time to pressure requirements of the oil pump.
