India is known to produce quality auto components for leading vehicle manufacturers of the world. One such component supplier is Ayushi Engineering Company catering majorly to global companies. Exports account for about two-third of the company’s business. The company’s manufacturing unit is located at Rajkot (Gujarat), where it produces auto parts of international standards using ultramodern technology. In this interview, Jeetu Gosai, Director, Ayushi Engineering Company, elaborates on prevailing status of manufacturing sector and his plans to boost its exports further.

Kindly brief us about your company and products & services offered by it.

Ayushi Engineering Company is an emerging name as manufacturers and exporters. In 2003, we started making products using latest CNC machines with help of sophisticated measuring instruments. We produce auto parts, tractor parts, truck parts, transmission parts, elevator parts, gearbox parts, electric switchgear and general engineering customised products. Our products are highly acclaimed in the US, UK, Germany, France and Italy, Turkey, Hungary as well as in domestic market. Some of our customers are Mahindra, Sonalika, L&T, NRB, etc.

Our export market percentage stands at a high of 65 per cent in these countries with an ever-growing curve, delivers technology and technical engineering solutions to challenging productions. Our work has ranged from broad program integration support of high-profile national programs with global reach to tightly focused, technically sophisticated projects. A huge sales volume completes the picture of success for the company. Our commitment to achieve customer satisfaction through timely supply of quality products has won them new customer bases.

What is driving the demand for your products & services? Which are the major industries that use your products & services?

Factors like competitive price, world class manufacturing facilities, customer satisfaction & retention in more than one decade, on time delivery, etc contribute greatly in company’s growth. Automotive, agriculture machinery, switch gear, elevator, hydraulic systems and OEM manufacturer are our major customers.

How has been the performance of your exports business? How do you plan to further increase your exports?

Exports contribute majorly to our business. For the last five years, exports have accounted for about 65 per cent of our turnover and our plans are to take it to 75 per cent in the next two years. This is the reason why we are exhibiting our products at international exhibitions since last two years.

What steps have you taken to increase productivity and efficiency of your manufacturing facility?

We have added and also plan to add computerised machines with latest technology. We are also focusing on skill development of our employees for which we are conducting more training programme in our organization for all level of our employees.

What will be your focus at Hannover Messe 2019? Also, are you going to introduce any new product/technology at Hannover Messe?

Our main focus is to increase our customer base in different segments and to serve single window total solution to our potential customer from India. We will also display our new products as well as new machinery and measuring instruments which we added in the last one year.

What is the present status of India’s manufacturing sector? What has been the effect of “Make in India” campaign and other government initiatives on the manufacturing sector?

After demonetization and GST implementation, business is going down with cash flow crunch being the major factor. In domestic market, business is also down (up to 40 per cent) since last year. With respect to Make in India campaign, there is not much effect on our business because we are already doing exports for more than a decade. At present, policy is not much favourable to attract export business.

What are your growth plans for the company?

We have been growing at 30 per cent every year. Our plan is to maintain and increase domestic as well as export market in next five years.
