With its Sinamics V20 inverter, the Siemens presents a new variable frequency drive for basic applications. The compact and rugged inverter excels with short commissioning times, user friendly operation and high cost-effectiveness. The Sinamics V20 comes in four sizes to cover the performance range from 0.12 to 15 kW and is used to operate pumps, fans, compressors and conveyor systems, as well as for simple drive tasks in the processing and handling industry.

Siemens has launched SINAMICS V20 - an easy to use, cost-effective inverter that is designed to perform simple drive tasks. This variable frequency drive is available in four sizes and covers the power range from 0.12 to 15 kW. The compact inverters can be connected directly in line, or alternatively mounted as a push-through installation in addition to the conventional wall-mounting method. With an in- built interface display, also known as the Basic Operator Panel (BOP), this user friendly inverter enables easy on-site commissioning and operations. Further, it has simple menu driven steps from power up till motor run.

The demand-driven regulation of the motor speed also results in high energy savings. The SINAMICS V20 comes with an integrated energy savings function that substantially reduces energy consumption up to 60% depending on application and machine-type. The new inverter is equipped with an energy-optimized control mode (ECO Mode) for increased energy efficiency, which automatically adapts the magnetic flux in the motor to the prevailing operating point.

Pre-built connection and application macros facilitate application-specific settings which enable quick commissioning and maximum performance. Features such as wider voltage range, better cooling design and coated PCB increase the robustness of the inverter and ensure reliability even in harsh industrial environments.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Mr Ralf Michael Franke - CEO Drive Technologies, Siemens AG said "With its unique features, the SINAMICS V20 is targeted at industries that need robust, fast, cost effective installation and hassle free operation. With superior energy efficiency, reliability and high availability, this drive contributes directly to the profitability of an enterprise."

Being a rugged inverter it can sustain operating temperature of up to 60?C. Additionally, Siemens customers benefit from shortest lead time, highest availability of spare parts and lifetime product support. A strong service portfolio for preventive maintenance as well as value services from Siemens ensures efficient functioning of the machine throughout its lifecycle.

Siemens Ltd, in which Siemens AG holds 75% of the capital, is the flagship listed company of Siemens AG in India. Siemens in India including Siemens Ltd comprises 13 legal entities, is a leading powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering with a business volume aggregating about Rs 12,000 crore. It operates in the core business areas of industry, infrastructure and cities, energy and healthcare. It has a nation-wide sales and service network, 21 manufacturing plants and employs about 18,000 people.
