Schneider Electric India, the global specialist in energy management has won the Gold prize in the medium size category of FICCI Safety Excellence Awards for Manufacturing-2012 for its Hyderabad Plant. The award was presented to Dr. Satish Kumar, Energy Ambassador, Schneider Electric India, and Ms. Bhavna Jaggi, Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager, Hyderabad Plant, Schneider Electric India at Federation House, New Delhi by the Union Minister of Labour & Employment, Hon'ble Shri Mallikarjun Kharge.

Schneider Electric's Hyderabad global plant was set up in 2006. The plant is spread over 40,000 square meters of land area with 800 employees who use some class-leading machines, tools and processes to manufacture world-class air circuit breakers, medium voltage (PN2C, RM6) contactors and push buttons, catering to the requirements of domestic as well as worldwide markets.

Schneider Electric was selected from over 37 companies who participated in the evaluation. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Satish Kumar, Energy Ambassador, Schneider Electric India said, "We are honored to be a part of prestigious FICCI Safety Excellence Awards for manufacturing. Our Hyderabad plant follows class-leading systems and processes that include safety measures and accurate control and remote monitoring of the plant."

Commenting on the achievement of the Hyderabad plant, Ms. Bhavna Jaggi, Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager, Hyderabad Plant, Schneider Electric India said, "The award comes as an acknowledgement of the safe and healthy work practices in our operations. Integration of behavior based safety in day to day operations and in particular the detailed, systematic and scientific approaches to ergonomics at work place are one of the key pillars of SPS (Schneider Production System)."
