IBM has announced that Sakthi Auto Components Limited, part of the Sakthi Group of companies, has selected IBM for consolidating and strengthening their IT infrastructure. With this alliance IBM would be strengthening Sakthi Auto Component's IT hardware environment and enabling them to be more agile and customer centric with faster time to information. Sakthi Auto is a major supplier of critical components like steering knuckles, brake drums, brake discs, hubs, brake calipers, and carriers, to leading car manufacturers such as Maruti Udyog Ltd., Hyundai, Ind Auto Ltd., Ford, and Honda Siel Cars, among others.

Sakthi Auto components wanted to enjoy the benefits of superior virtualization capabilities through its partnership with IBM, which would lead to higher return on investment for them. Also, to cope up with a highly competitive market environment, the company needed a more robust and cost effective hardware solution. Sakthi Auto engaged IBM to help consolidate their IT infrastructure with IBM's robust System X servers and Storwize V7000 storage solutions to integrate their operation.
