Reliance Industries to launch its first solar giga-factory in FY25

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) is set to launch its first solar giga-factory in FY25, marking a significant step in its transition to green energy. Led by Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of the firm, the factory will be a comprehensive facility producing photovoltaic (PV) modules, cells, wafers, ingots, polysilicon, and glass all at one site.
The company will commission its first module and cell manufacturing line in FY25, with solar panels from its Jamnagar plant already receiving BIS certification.
RIL anticipates that its green energy sector will become a major growth driver, potentially surpassing other business areas in the next 5-7 years. The company also plans to develop local supply chains to enhance self-sufficiency and reduce reliance on imports.
