With an aim to bring together Micro, Small, Medium and Large organizations under one roof in the arena of machine tools and process engineering, HITEX is organising two events in Hyderabad from August 23, 2012. The 4th HITEX International Machine Tool Expo 2012 (HIMTEX 2012) is slated to be held from August 23 to 26, 2012 while the 2nd Process Engineering Expo and Conference will be conducted from August 23 to 25, 2012 at the same venue.

"HITEX has the mandate to organise expos in the subjects A.P. has strength. The purpose of organising these expos is to contribute in the growth of machine tool and engineering product manufacturers in small scale industry of the country in general and Andhra Pradesh in particular. Since Process Engineering Expo is dedicated to process plants and equipments for the core sector, Andhra Pradesh with large presence of cement industry and upcoming investments in power sector provides a great opportunity," said Mr Sambit Mund, Head - Trade Fair Division, HITEX.

Unlike all other machine tool expos, HIMTEX 2012 will be highly focused on MSMEs in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The outlook for the year 2012 - 13 is promising mainly because of the brisk Government investment in infrastructure, especially the building of a national network of highways, the easy availability of finance in semi - urban and rural areas and the use of India as an export hub by some of the auto majors. HIMTEX 2012 aims at providing a platform for face-to-face interaction between the manufacturers/suppliers and the buyers. The expo will host over 100 exhibitors like Ace Micro Matics, CTR, Hyundai, Ewac Alloys, Neel Kamal, ITL, Shree Yantra and also include some participants from Europe.

Though India ranks seventh in machine tools consumption globally in value terms ($1.74 billion) as against China at $27 billon, Germany $5 billion and Japan $4.5 billion, the country ranks 13th in terms of production in value terms at $500 million and 27th in exports, with China, Germany and Japan dominating the top three positions. Indian machine tools industry is able to meet about 40% of the total consumption and had generated revenues of nearly Rs 10,000 crore in 2010-11 fiscal.

It is pertinent to note that the 2nd Process Engineering Expo & Conference 2012 is India's only exhibition for process plants and equipments. Aiming to play an integral role in the changing landscape of the core sector of India, the 2nd edition of this event will provide an interactive knowledge sharing and business matching platform for the process industry of India, incorporating all aspects of the core sector. The expo offers an ideal platform to the procurements managers and decision makers of cement, chemicals, petrochemical, steel, power, metallurgy and fertilizer companies to reduce their procurement cost of process related engineering products in a well panned manner.

The two-day conference would be attended by industry leaders from all over the country with 25 speakers from India and overseas presenting their technical papers. The organizers expect more than 300 participants and delegates including key players like NMDC, BHEL, L&T, Ion Exchange, Godrej etc to take part.
