India Set to Launch Rs 1 Trillion Fund to Strengthen R&D, Innovation Ecosystem

In a significant step for India’s innovation ecosystem, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch the Rs 1 trillion Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) scheme fund. This initiative aims to foster a private sector-driven research and development environment in the country, further enhancing India’s position as a global leader in innovation and technological advancement.

Alongside the launch, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Emerging Science & Technology Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, at approximately 9:30 am. The ESTIC 2025 will take place from 3 to 5 November 2025, with over 3,000 participants expected to attend. These will include representatives from academia, research institutions, industry, and government, along with Nobel Laureates, renowned scientists, innovators, and policymakers.

The conclave will focus on 11 key thematic areas, including Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, Bio-Manufacturing, Blue Economy, Digital Communications, Electronics & Semiconductor Manufacturing, Emerging Agriculture Technologies, Energy, Environment & Climate, Health & Medical Technologies, Quantum Science & Technology, and Space Technologies.

The launch of the Rs 1 trillion RDI scheme marks a pivotal moment in India’s drive to enhance its research capabilities, accelerate technological innovation, and support the development of breakthrough technologies that can have a transformative impact on the country’s economic growth and global competitiveness.
