Germany-based Kl?ber Lubrication India Pvt Ltd, which is a part of the Freudenberg Chemical Specialities (FCS), inaugurated its state-of-the-art laboratories, production and warehousing facilities in their existing site at Mysore. FCS was one of the first to introduce speciality chemical solutions to the Indian market through its global brands Kl?ber Lubrication, OKS, Chem-Trend and Sur-Tec.

The new facility has been built with an investment of Rs 135 crore and will cater to various applications in the automotive, food, cement, steel, textile, and general industries for both domestic as well as global markets. The expanded facilities will make the Mysore plant one of the biggest of its kind in the FCS world. This is a commitment from the FCS group to continue its investment in infrastructure, operations and facility enhancement projects in emerging markets to deliver the same global standards locally. The new site will become a hub for innovation with its comprehensive test facility and R&D centre, catering to the needs of Asia Pacific for speciality lubricants, release agents and maintenance products. The site will have manufacturing facilities for speciality lubricating oils, greases, pastes, aerosols and release agents across Kl?ber Lubrication, OKS and Chem-Trend brands. The plant was officially inaugurated by Dr J?rg Matthias Gro??ann, Dr Dirk Loderer and Dr Jim Graff of Kl?ber Lubrication and Chem-Trend respectively.

Mr Jagadesh Rudriah Channiah, Director Production & Technology, Kl?ber Lubrication India said, "To serve the markets we are in, we need quick response time, advanced R&D and test capabilities to meet the changing requirements of the industry. Our new facility will help us in doing this and be closer to our customers."

Kl?ber Lubrication develops and manufactures speciality lubricants including oils, greases, pastes and bonded coatings to serve diverse industries. They have been working with all the leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) across the globe including India in addressing their challenging lubrication needs through application engineering coupled with value added services. The Mysore facility has been focused on developing products, which meets the demands of customers locally and globally. With this facility, Kl?ber Lubrication has been able to jointly work with Indian customers in steel, textile, automotive industries and develop customised lubrication solutions thereby supporting customers to optimise lubrication cost.

Chem-Trend produces high performance release agents, purge compounds and ancillary products related to moulding, casting and forming operations in industries like die casting, polyurethane, tyre, rubber, composites and thermoplastics. The new facility will enable Chem-Trend to work closely with the customers in developing new products with faster response time. This will strengthen Chem-Trend's endeavour to add value and support the customers to produce high quality parts more efficiently.

OKS Speciality Lubricants was the first company in the FCS group to be present in India and one of the first to introduce the concept of speciality lubricants. The brand has been successful due to its ability to create local products with a quick turnaround time. The new facility will further strengthen the capabilities of OKS in the areas of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) applications.
