The first ACMA-Automechanika was inaugurated at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on February 7, 2013. Automechanika, the leading global trade fair for automotive aftermarket products, has tied up with Auto Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) in India to provide networking opportunities with key regional and international players.

After inaugurating the event, Union Minister of heavy industries, Praful Patel said, "Events of this kind are a platform to show India's prowess in the auto component field. Currently the automotive industry is facing a slowdown and it is important to revive the sector, which contributes around 22 percent of the country's manufacturing GDP. I would also facilitate talks with the Indian automotive industry's parent ministry, the Ministry of Heavy Industries, to hold discussions with the Finance Ministry to offer support to the auto industry."

ACMA Automechanika 2013 has witnessed more than 250 exhibitors taking part in the four-day event that is spread over 9,500 sq.m. A prominent theme at the show of 'Asli-Naqli', which trains focus on counterfeiting and the efforts the industry, is doing to eliminate the same. The Messe Frankfurt theme includes the provision of global assistance in ensuring the intellectual property of the fair's exhibitors and spread awareness on benefits of using genuine auto components.

Held concurrently with the exhibition, ACMA has organised an Aftermarket Seminar, from 8-9 February 2013. The seminar aims to help attendees understand current and future trends in the aftermarket industry, as well as examine the challenges and opportunities the sector has to offer. As the aftermarket services sector has evolved, the distribution channels necessary to meet buyers' needs have grown accordingly, in tune with evolving market forces and changing consumer preferences.
