India Kitchen & Food Service Design Summit hosted in New Delhi

Food Service Design India (FSD India) hosted the India Kitchen & Food Service Design Summit 2018 at Le Meridien, New Delhi, from October 5-6. Main objectives of the summit were introduction of food and beverage operators to new technologies and products, and sharing of knowledge on food service design and facilities planning to take India to the next level in sustainable kitchen design
Food Service Design India (FSD India) hosted the India Kitchen & Food Service Design Summit 2018 at Le Meridien, New Delhi, from October 5-6. Main objectives of the summit were introduction of food and beverage operators to new technologies and products, and sharing of knowledge on food service design and facilities planning to take India to the next level in sustainable kitchen design.There were four panel discussions on each day with the theme of 'Sustainable Kitchen Design’. The topics such as sustainable central kitchen ventilation,
sustainable kitchen refrigeration, sustainable commercial cooking, water conservation in commercial kitchens, sustainable dish washing, energy efficient kitchen design, energy efficient Hotel BOH design, energy efficient FOH design, efficient utilities, etc were discussed.
Commenting on the occasion, Arnab Mukherji, VP India & South Asia, Manitowoc Food Service, USA, said, “It's indeed our pleasure to be associated with this noble initiative. I personally would like to believe Indian kitchens, their owners and finally the end consumer, can truly benefit by using modern and energy efficient equipment for food preparation, cooking, holding and off course refrigeration.”
Panelists and delegates included hoteliers, restaurateurs, kitchen consultants, project managers, architects & ID's, MEP consultants, KEC's, OEM's and distributors.
The 2-day summit addressed the major requirements of efficient food service design. Specifically, the sessions discussed the design objectives, current capabilities and how to augment the same. The summit also sensitised the hospitality professionals & other stake holders to raise the level of food service design in India and help operators to become more competitive and viable.
