Chennai, August 29, 2018

Henkel Adhesives Technologies India Pvt Ltd (Henkel India) and Madras Auto Service (MAS), a division of T V Sundram Iyengar & Sons Pvt Ltd (TVS), have entered into a partnership to revolutionise the retail vehicle and repair aftermarket segment. Through this partnership, MAS has become Henkel India’s channel partner for pan India vehicle repair & maintenance (VRM) sales. This partnership will leverage the technology and service expertise of Henkel and the strong market presence of Madras Auto Service. With support from Henkel India, MAS will add new product lines to its existing customer segment.

As part of the commercial alliance, Henkel will organise intensive training programs and provide on-field technical support on the latest vehicle repair technologies across 2-wheeler, 4-wheeler and commercial vehicles. In addition, it will give MAS access to its extensive aftermarket product portfolio designed to OEM standards of performance and these include body repair, mechanical repair, cleaning and maintenance. By virtue of this partnership, Madras Auto Service will also be able to leverage Henkel’s expertise and state-of-the-art innovation center at Pune to develop new products for the VRM segment based on market needs.

MAS will ensure distribution of Henkel India’s VRM solutions through its network of over 20,000 retailers, more than 65 branches and through its over 500-member strong sales force. This will enable faster, more reliable and high-quality delivery of VRM service.

This partnership will first see its inaugural rollout in September within Tamil Nadu. By the first quarter of 2019 it will be rolled out across the country.

Henkel in India has two legal entities Henkel Adhesives Technologies India Pvt Ltd (wholly-owned subsidiary of Henkel, Germany) and Henkel Anand India Private Limited (a JV). The company is present in two businesses - adhesive technologies and beauty care.

Madras Auto Service (MAS) is the largest distributor of auto components in the country. MAS has a turnover of over Rs 450 crores and employs more than 700 employees serving more than 20000 dealers with 47 active lines and about 25000 SKUs. In the last 10 decades, the TVS Group has expanded operations to vehicle sales and service, spare parts distribution, manufacture of automotive components, two wheelers, distribution & logistics, finance, information technology and general insurance.
