IED Communications Ltd will hold the 13th edition of its flagship event Automation Expo from August 29 to September 1, 2018 at Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai focusing on Industry 4.0 and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

Industry 4.0 has become a reality with technologies such as smart sensors, advanced robotics, Internet of Thing (IoT) devices, advanced analytics, Artificial Intelligence and machine learning. IIoT creates the ‘smart factory’, wherein machinery, storage systems and production are capable of carrying out complex tasks, exchanging information and giving instructions to each other. The Government of India has already articulated a new policy to incentivise adoption of digital technologies. With the active planning for 100 Smart Cities coupled with initiatives namely Digital India, Skill India and Start-up India, the requisite digital ecosystem is being created to facilitate this transformation.

The Expo will cater to all aspects of Industry 4.0 and IIoT: process automation and control systems, factory automation, industrial automation, electric automation, field instrumentation and smart sensors, robotics and drives, software solutions, bus technologies, wireless technology, building automation, hydraulics & pneumatics, automation in renewable energy and safety and security systems.

“The 2018 edition of Automation Expo will not only be the biggest ever in the series so far, but also the most representative of all the new and emerging technologies that together have ushered in the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” said Dr M Arokiaswamy, Managing Director, IED Communications Ltd. More than 50,000 visitors from various industries such as oil & gas, automobiles, pharmaceutical, food processing, fertilisers and chemicals amongst others are expected.
