Cable Reeling Drums

Orton Engineering offers Cable Reeling Drums. The range includes Spring Operated Cable Reeling Drums, Spring Operated Cable Reeling Drums with geared rotary limit switch arrangement, Stall Torque Motor Operated Cable Reeling Drum, Torque Controller Type Motorized Cable Reeling Drum and Sprocket Driven Cable Reeling Drum.

Spring Operated Cable Reeling Drums
Spring operated cable reeling drums are powered with springs and has an automatic rewind features which provides an extremely simple way of supplying power to machines such as cranes and hoists. These cable drums are sued for both AC and DC applications. These reels recover and store the cable in multiple layers on the drum. Spring operated cable reeling drums can also be provided with geared rotary limit switch arrangement.

Stall Torque Motor Operated Cable Reeling Drum
These types of cable reeling drums are normally used for cables of size 4C X 25 sq mm (max) and cable lengths up to 20m. However these drums can be used even up to 150m if the cable diameter is small (4C X 2.5 sq. mm)

Torque Controller Type Motorized Cable Reeling Drum
Motor driven torque controller cable reeling drums are available in 3 types such as monospiral, standard lay and random lay. These drums are available for a complete range of cable lengths from 30 to 500 meters, for voltage up to 11000 V. These drums are easily installed, have an absolute minimum maintenance requirement and are virtually unaffected by extremes of temperature and environment.

Sprocket Driven Cable Reeling Drum
These types of cable reeling drums are used to avoid tension on the cable. A drive mechanism is required to drives the cable reeling, which is not required in case of spring operated or motorised cable reeling drums. These types of drums are recommended for single layer winding of cables.
