Permanent Magnetic Grills (Hoppers)

Santosh Magnetic Works offers Permanent Magnetic Grills (Hopper Magnets). These simple and very efficient permanent magnetic grills are indispensable for trapping and separating iron pieces in the form of rods, cut wires, nails, nuts, bolts, scales and worn out parts, etc., mixed with dry, granular or powdered materials of following materials of following. The grills are constructed with high energy ferrite magnets or ceramic magnets properly dimensioned pole pieces. The series and parallel arrangement of magnets improves the magnetic circuit power. The rugged grills are made in magnetically shielded design also. The grills are available in vast range of standard sizes and can be made in any size and shape according to the requirements. The clear openings between poles are standardised at 24 mm, but can be made at 12 mm or 36 mm openings as specials. Generally the grills are to be just located and kept in the feeding hoppers or in the passage where the materials flow, for proper working care should be taken to prevent clogging of opening of grills, hence generally sticky or moist materials are not suited for these units. The grills are capable of separating fine pieces of contamination plastic granules with iron pieces – but may be loosened and dislodged due to pressure of incoming materials fed at high rate or in bulk. In such cases the location of magnetic grill at an angle and provision, of 2 or 3 in stages will help in complete separation. The grills described above can also be used for filtering liquids. By adding or fixing of screen over the face in any mesh size required, very fine ferrous impurities from liquid can be separated from gear oils, hydraulic fluids or coolant oils/fluids, etc.
