Granite Surface Plates

GMT Metrology manufactures granite surface plates. These plates are manufactured to precision standards using the highest quality granite and can be used for inspection in the laboratory, tool room or shop floor to a high level of accuracy. The plates are manufactured without any ledge. They machines are lapped and hand finished by experienced technicians and rigorous quality control inspection is carried out at all stages. The final inspection is carried out by a high precision computerised electronic level equipment. These plates are manufactured in four grades. Grade 00 is of laboratory grade and is specified typically for precision operations in constant temperature gauging rooms and metrology departments. Grade 0 is of inspection grade and is specified typically for general work in quality control. Grade 1 is of tool room grade and is specified for production checking work through the shop. Grade 2 is for shops specified general inspection. The company also offers surface plate stands fabricated of heavy angle iron and reinforced to ensure rigidity. The stands are supplied with 3 levelling screws for the granite surface plates. The overall working height of the stand with plate will be 1 metre from floor level. The stands can be supplied with castors on request.
