Angle Sensor With Automatic Bending

With the ACB angle sensor developed by Trumpf for air bending on press brakes a high quality and, cost reduction can be achieved. This sensor applies tactile four-point measurement by employing two measuring disks of different diameters. This permits on-line measurement on the inside of both bending flanges without any interference contours. Based on the resulting height difference between the two disks tire control calculates the size of the bending angle. The spring back is gauged when the sheet is in a no-load condition. Then the bending angle is precisely adjusted to the desired value. The angle sensor is ideal for small lot sizes since it virtually eliminates angle-related set-up times. It can be used for smaller function parts and for larger bending lengths.
