ACS Multi-Axes Motion Controllers

ACS Motion Control’s SPii ASIC, recognised by Design News as a “Great Idea in Motion Control”, is a complete control system in a single chip that can control up to 8 AC servo/DC brushless, DC brush and up to 4 stepper motors. These controllers employ a distributed architecture that has 1 main processing unit (MPU) handling high level tasks like profile generation, diagnostics and several slave processors dedicated to 2 axes each, executing real time control algorithms at 20 kHz. They can work on a computer’s PCI bus or as StandAlone, or can be rack mounted. Also, CM module combines the motion controller, drive power supply, and up to 3 digital drives into a single package. They support Ethernet, Serial RS232, RS232/422, Modbus and CANbus. Many motion modes like point-to-point, segmented, master-slave, and arbitrary path with PVT cubic interpolation can be implemented easily with ACSPL+, a compiled, high-level true multitasking language, optimised for motion control applications. Extensive libraries are available for C, C++, VB and LabView.
