Power Distribution Centres

Drawing on over 80 years of experience in the development of power switching and protection components, Carling Technologies offers standard and custom designed AC and DC power distribution centres that exceed the tough demands of today's applications while still offering safety, reliability and performance. Power distribution centre, or PDC, is Carling's term for a standard or custom power distribution panel or enclosure that's factory wired and contains over current and short circuit protection devices. It may also contain auxiliary devices such as surge suppressors, ground fault circuit interrupters, power receptacles, etc. A PDC is usually supplied by the main feeder and then divides the power into smaller branch circuits. A PDC provides the required circuit control and overcurrent protection needed to all the circuits and power consuming loads connected to it. The company offers a variety of standard AC PDCs and standard DC PDCs, including three different product series of one rack unit (1RU) panels designed to fit industry standard rack systems. All one rack unit products provide front access and utilise plug-in style circuit breakers that are "hot swappable." It also offers standard battery disconnect panels with ratings up to 700 A and interrupting capacity of 50,000 A @ 125 V DC. Battery disconnect panels are available in sizes as small as 1RU x 19", up to 3RU.
