Thermocouples, High Temperature

High temperature thermocouples are widely used in many industries. Available in various types, thermocouples Type ?R? (Pt Rh 13% - Pt) and Type ?S? (Pt Rh 10% - Pt) are used to measure temperatures up to 1400?C/1600?C maximum; Type ?B? (Pt Rh 6% - Pt Rh 30% or Pt. 18) are for temperatures up to 1800?C max; and Type ?C? (tungsten 5%, rhenium/tungsten 26% rhenium) for temperature up to 2300?C max (the thermo element pair is protected by two or three ceramic/silicon carbide sheaths of various types depending upon working temperature and environmental conditions); Type KER 610 ? alumina tube with 60%, 80%, 95% Al2O3; and Type KER 710 ? recrystalised high alumina tube with 99.5%, 99.9% Al2O3 available in 24, 20, 15, 12, 10, 8 and 6 mm dia. Holding tubes made of SS 304/SS 316 of 32, 25 and 20 mm dia are used to hold ceramic sheath with head, steatite ceramic terminal block with nickel plated terminals and die cast aluminium/SS mounting head and adjustable flange.
