Dry Bearing Test Rig

The Production Engineering Department of Sinhgad College of Engineering, Pune, has designed and developed a unique ‘Dry Bearing Test Rig’ to measure coefficient of friction and wear under varying load, speed and temperature simulating actual working condition. In the test rig test, the bearing is directly mounted on a shaft experiencing direct loading under a wide range of speeds. The unit has got a control panel properly interfaced with a PC for data logging of process parameters. The rig is very useful to bearing manufacturing industries as well as academic/research institutions for evaluation of performance of the bearing. The technology has been transferred to a firm in Pune.
