Protec Messtechnik has developed a turbine meter based on pelton turbine construction and an infrared sensor. The frequency of the square wave impulse is directly proportional to flow rate. With appropriate secondary fittings with indicators of momentary measurement values and integrated values, analogue outputs 4 to 20 mA and communication via hard protocol or batch control can be achieved. The materials used ensure chemical resistance. The electronics has protection rating IP67.
