Modsonic Instruments manufactures and markets world-class ultrasonic thickness gauges, DTM-2 Series. This has become an industry standard with more than 1500 units in use in India and abroad. It can measure wall thickness of any homogeneous material, non-destructively, from one side, and instantly over a range of 1 mm to 300 mm (in steel) with an accuracy of +0.1 mm. The series offers models with LCD and LED displays for out door and indoor applications respectively. Two broad categories of applications are: (i) "Dimensional accuracy"checks on cast, forged, drawn,pressed, machined and/or extruded parts of metal and non-metal, and (ii) "Remaining wall thickness monitoring"of vessels, pipes and other plant and equipments in any process industry as a part of maintenance inspection. These gauges are handy, pocket-sized with easy, one-step calibration, and operate on dry or rechargeable batteries. They come with special probes to cover the full application range. Accuracy, repeatability and reliability are their hallmark. They are supplied with test and calibration certificate with traceability to NPL, Delhi.
