Rock Drill Rod Forging Machine

Karnataka Diamond Tools (KDT) has developed a machine, which can forge the worn out/new drill rods to their original shape, so as to fit a new carbide insert. The machine is hydraulically operated, it is fitted with 5.0 HP motor, starter and a power pack unit. It consists of two hydraulic cylinders and suitable dies and punches to forge carbide bit point end and as well as collet shank end forging. It is very useful in mining areas where the re-typing of drill rods is frequency carried out, on a large scale.
