- Virtually all of the usual wires, piping and even the door rails have been moved out of the work area so swarf is easily contained and falls free for collection by the coolant chute positioned directly below the work

- Quick change grinding wheel, workholding and coolant header allow for part changeover in less than 5 minutes – all Gleason quick change designs on the Phoenix 280G require no additional tools
- More rigid dresser design with no services in the workchamber for higher reliability – the new dresser design allows complete retraction of the unit, using just one single axis
- New stock divider design for better accuracy, repeatability, and reliability – the new stock divider design allows the complete protection of the unit while grinding
- Less swarf contamination – helps ensure fast, accurate bevel gear grinding, as well as helping to minimize the time-consuming and expensive maintenance challenges of swarf accumulation and contamination
