The dry sterilizers combine unique features of advanced technology and operational convenience. Dry sterilizing is a pure heat treatment for glassware and metals as well as liquids with low moisture content. This method is also very suitable for heat treatment of powdered medicament. They operate on forced draft principle with fast air circulation securing quick transmission for the items. Dry sterilizing means a complete destruction of micro-organisms by means of dry heat for a controlled period of time, eg, 170°C to 240°C. Dry sterilizing is mainly used for: preparation of packaging of glass and metal, eg, ampules, injection bottles, infusion bottles, etc; production equipment such as stainless steel vessels and reactors, etc; laboratory glassware instruments; bottles containing low aqueous liquids such as glycerine; and powered medicaments, talcum powder and sulphona mines.
