Engine Cooling Servo Systems

Vortex Engineering Works offers Engine Cooling Servo Systems. It is offered for the modern commercial on-road and off-road vehicles. Patented clutch solutions accurately control vehicular engine fan cooling systems. These are electromagnetic and pneumatically controlled clutch units with varying levels of intricacies of control depending on the requirements of the vehicles/ engines and specifications. The range varies from the single speed single-speed on-off electromagnetic coupling solutions to the 4-speed clutch system, which integrates dual pneumatic lines into a combination of the electromagnetic clutch and eddy-current clutch. The advantages over the conventional viscous coupling are as under: no organic fluid resulting in reduced Co2 and other pollutant emissions; servo-system with the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controlling the engine; accurately controlled the fan speed resulting into reduced noise; torque transmission though mechanical friction, hence no drag torque as in the case of the intermediate media such as an organic fluid; fail-safe solutions possible in case of system failure; solutions meeting EURO-IV emission norms; fuel consumption reduction is nearly 5% over the traditional viscous coupling; the clutch solution is a life-time maintenance free solution.
