Membrane Bio Reactor

The Membrane Bio Reactors are used for waste water/sewage treatment and recycle. These membrane bio reactors (MBR) are designed to produce high quality treated water from wastewater, with highest possible bacterial reduction without adding any chemicals. These are available in standard and customised modules to treat domestic sewage; primary and secondary waste water, cooling tower blow down, etc. The characteristics of the MBR process are the use of revolutionary flat sheet type submerged membranes in the biological process water tank. The membrane module consists of housing, aeration diffuser; permeate water manifold and membrane elements. Advantages: submerged applications do not require expensive "out of tank" pressure pipe work; single packaged unit, minimal civil work and pre-treatment; compact system (1/3 to 1/4 the space of a conventional system); complete automated system, minimal attention and maintenance; low energy consumption (< 0.30 kWH/m3); no chemical requirements for coagulation/flocculation and disinfections consistent treated water quality, independent of feed variability; 5 year membrane life and more; and ideal for retrofitting/augmentation of capacities and quality of existing wastewater plants.
