Kavitsu Machine-O-Elektriks has introduced IP55 metric motor line of rugged, all-purpose motors. The cast iron, totally enclosed fan cooled IP55 construction make this motor the preferred choice for almost any application in even the toughest environments. Standard ratings: 2-pole 0.18-15 kW; 4-pole 0.12-15 kW; 6-pole 0.18-10 kW; and 8-pole 0.18-7.5 kW. Standards: built to meet or exceed the IS standards for dimensions and performance; IS: 325 performance, IS: 1231/2223 dimensions and IS: 4691 degree of protection conforming to IS specifications; power supply – for greater flexibility of application and increased safety margin, the motors are suitable for 415 ±6%, 50 Hz ±5%, combined variation allowed ±10%; ambient temperature – -15 to 45ºC is standard; service factor – these motors have a 1.15 SF at 50 Hz, typical for electric motors, duty class S1; construction – rugged aluminium/cast iron construction, frame, end-shields, integral feet and flanges absorb shock and reduce motor vibration to provide a low-maintenance motor life; stator winding and insulation – the stator core is built up from low loss, high permeability, silicon steel for increased efficiency it features a class F insulation system with design for B maximum temperature rise; the terminal box is of aluminium/cast iron construction and is available on top and side; the rotor is built with the same high quality lamination steel, die cast with high conductivity EC grade aluminium, shrunk fit on to a high strength carbon-steel shaft; the rotor assembly is dynamically balanced to provide low noise and smooth, vibration-free operation for long trouble free life; all motors use 100,000 hours direct 25,000 hours belted, anti-friction, deep groove ball bearings with both ends sealed on drive end, tight fit; cooling method – IC0141 bi-directional cooling fan; and connection – star-connection for up to 2.2 kW, delta-connection for 3.7 kW and above. Warranty: Kavitsu motors are warranted to be free from defects in material, workmanship for a period of one year.
