EPE Foam Sheet, Rod, Pipe, Profile & Netting Extruder

Malik Engineers manufacture MESS(BF) Series Single Screw Extruder for producing EPE foam products from low density polyethylene plastic material. The products produced from this machine include low-density foam packaging sheet, foam tube, rod, profile and also netting. These products are widely used in packaging of fragile and delicate items, cold insulation, etc. Foam rods are used as expansion joints in building and road construction.
The extrusion process utilizes a single screw extruder fitted with precision screw & barrel unit of special configuration and design for producing EPE foam products. The design makes possible melting, gas injection, cooling and pumping of the compound from suitable die from which the foamed product discharges. After emerging from the die opening, the foamed extrudate is handled, in-line with other equipment like sizer, slitter, puller and winder, which continuously winds the finished product in rolls.
In the extruder, the raw-materials pre-mixed with suitable ingredients is melted and continuous injection of blowing agent such as iso-butane or combination of other gases like CO2 and Isopentane through precision metering and dosing pumps is done to obtain a lower density foam product. The metered quantity of gas(es) is continuously mixed in the molten polymer and cooled for proper densification and maximum foaming of the product as it emerges out of the die opening. The machine is provided with accurate electronic controllers and circuits for precise control of the process parameters. The same machine can be adapted to produce protection sheet, pipe, rod, profile and netting by use of suitable attachments supplied with the machine.
EPE sheet can be produced in standard width of 1 metre and thickness from 1mm to 5mm. Foam pipe and rod can be produced from 4mm to 50mm diameter.
