Air-to-Air Heat Exchangers

Sunbeam Appliances offers Air-to-Air Heat Exchangers. It is used with electrical and electronic panels where internal electric components can withstand and function with slightly above ambient temperature. It provides more heat transfer area to emit heat to ambient. Principle of operation: It consists of sections forming two completely separate air circuits. Heated internal air in the cabinet is drawn into the air-to-air heat exchanger from the top and is conveyed down through the internal air ducts and in the process gets cooled. This cooled air is fed back in to the interior of the cabinet through the bottom of the heat exchanger by the air-handling unit. Outside cool ambient air is drawn into the heat exchanger at the bottom of the external duct and is blown upwards through the external air ducts by air handling unit. During the process aluminium walls and fins of the air ducts take heat to be removed from the air in the internal circuit and transfers it to the air in the external circuit. The heated air in the external circuit is blown out to atmosphere.
