The plastics industry in Kenya has been experiencing a boom, with demand for plastic products growing at 15-20% every year. Kenya has over 350 plastic processing factories with monthly raw material consumption of approximately 8000 tons. With liberalized, external trade systems in Kenya, the plastic industry one of the key is thriving sectors of this East African country. It is against this background that Kenya Plast 2012, a three-day event is being organised from 17 September 2012 at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC), Nairobi. Jointly organised by KMG Business Technology and the All India Plastic Manufacturers' Association (AIPMA), the event is supported by: Ministry of Trade, Republic of Kenya and approved by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO). Over 500 International Exhibitors from the Plastic Industry are expected to participate in the exhibition spread across 7,500 Sq. Mts. The expo would showcase a wide array of plastic products, equipment and machines including moulds and dyes, plastic chemicals and raw materials, together with a host of other related tools and accessories.
