Crompton Greaves manufactures vacuum interrupters (VIs). These are vacuum sealed-off devices incorporated in vacuum circuit breakers (VCBs) to cause interruption of fault currents in medium voltage electrical distribution systems. Features: assembly of the interrupter is made in a dust free clean room; assemblies are further processed in high vacuum, high temperature vacuum brazing furnaces using special brazing alloys; the vacuum interrupters are thoroughly tested for their dimensions, mechanical integrity, vacuum and dielectric strength before despatch to ensure a reliable product; and vacuum interrupters are also type tested to IEC standards on VCBs at CPRI Lab, (India) and KEMA lab.
